community Mental Health training and Peer Mental Health Support programming
Tula wellness is delighted to introduce a new concept in Community Mental Health training and Peer Mental Health Support programming. Mountain Wellness is a wraparound service to support and engage remote communities in developing a network of care for mental health and crisis management. The intention of this program is to resource the staff and management with a structure of learning, tools, and programming in the area of Mental Health and well-being. This proposed three-phase approach will offer Mental Health Awareness and Capacity Building, a Peer Support Program, and Counselling Services for employees of remote communities. This program is ideally structures for resort communities, such as ski/ outdoor/ vacation resorts.
HOw it works
Phase 1
Mental Health Awareness and Capacity Building:
Two-hour training available to all interested employees. Attendance is voluntary and participants receive a Certificate upon completion
This training provides a basic overview of Human Rights and Equity. The topics include

- Racism
- Sexualized violence and ablism
- Consent and reporting
- Mental Health First Aid and Resiliency building (self-care)
Phase 2
Peer Support Training and Programming:
8-hours over 2 days- training for staff wanting to become a volunteer Peer Mentor. Participants receive a certificate upon completion/ This volunteer program pulls on the immense resource of your staff. The structure of the program has one Peer Mentor per floor, building or unit. The Peer Support Training provides Peer Mentors specialized training through role playing in the following areas to support their peers as they navigate work and life in a resort setting.
Peer Mentors are not counsellors. They provide support and advice and function as a resource for inspiration and new
opportunities.
The Peer Support Program trains peers to help others build skills and navigate challenges through structured, experience-based support using the following skills
